The 50-year history of Metaxa Hospitality Group is deeply defined by a firm commitment to sustainability and innovation.
In 1975, the late Nikolaos Metaxas founded the iconic Creta Maris Beach Resort in Hersonissos, Crete — the island’s first 5-star hotel offering family-friendly hospitality services. This pioneering venture transformed Crete’s tourism model, helping establish the island as one of the world’s leading travel destinations.
Since 1999, under the leadership of Mr. Andreas N. Metaxas, the Group has entered a new era of dynamic growth, continually innovating and paving new paths in hospitality, always with sustainability at the core of its strategy.
Today, Metaxa Hospitality Group operates luxury resorts and 5-star hotels with over than 1,100 rooms in Crete (Creta Maris Resort all-inclusive in Hersonissos and TUI Magic Life Candia Maris in Ammoudara) and in Santorini (Santo Collection Resorts & Villas in Oia).
Recognized as “Greece’s Leading Hospitality Group” by the World Travel Awards from 2021 to 2024, the Group has received numerous awards and distinctions for offering guests unique, authentic, and high-quality hospitality experiences, and for its leadership in sustainable development.
